Prototech, with its expertise in processing equipment, designs complete solutions for heat exchange cooling and storage of whey from cheese processing, enabling it to be transported either to concentration or whey processing centres for transformation into powder or storage for re-use.
Prototech's design is subject to a careful assessment of the customer's plant and production systems, to examine the potential for utilising all the cooling capacity already available in existing treatment and production processes, in order to avoid the use of refrigeration equipment with its associated increase in costs.
The plants are equipped with automatic flow and temperature management systems for both the whey and the various fluids used in the cooling process. Once the whey has been brought to the required temperature, it is sent to insulated and refrigerated tanks, suitable for maintaining the temperature and equipped with systems for loading transportation tanks. The equipment, including storage tanks, is equipped with CIP cleaning systems and built according to 3A Standards and Good Manufacturing Practice.
